Welcome to the TEATRO Humanidad web site.TEATRO Humanidad's focus is to nurture new and emerging Latino playwrights, technicians and theatre artists, including special efforts focused on "at-risk" youth. We are working to establish a Latino theatre facility to house our productions, activities and programs, and provide affordable rental space for our community's performing organizations.

2003-2004 Season:
TEATRO offers a full theatrical Season of bilingual productions each year. During the past few years TEATRO productions and performers have garnered numerous awards and critical acclaim from the Austin Chronicle "best of" list, the Austin Critics Table, the B. Iden Payne theatre awards and rave revues in the Austin American-Statesman and other media outlets.

Youth Theatre:
In 1999 we launched a year-round Youth Theatre division that now includes a Children's Play TOUR that performs in local and state-wide schools, an After School Youth Theatre program with workshops and activities for the youth of our community, and a Summer Youth Production.

Get Involved:
TEATRO Humanidad offers a number of opportunities to get involved in our wonderful productions and programs. You can become an "Amigo de Teatro" or a business sponsor, buy advertising in our program booklets that reach over 8,000 people, or become an active volunteer.

Latino Comedy Project:
We also sponsor the award-winning Latino Comedy Project (LCP). We founded the LCP to develop and showcase Latino comedy writers, directors and performers. This project is in response to a national void of Latino comedic talent featured by media or theaters. If you're interested in joining the hottest Latino comedy troupe in Texas, email us at: LCP
